Registration
If you are the registered operator of a vehicle in Tasmania and it is used or parked on public streets the vehicle must be registered unless they meet specific criteria exempting the vehicle from registration.
You are eligible to be a registered operator if you are:
- person (over the age of 16 years or 18 years for a heavy vehicle)
- body corporate such as a company or an incorporated association
- Government department
- Government authority.
