The first stage of our Kingston DDA Compliant Bus Stop Project has been completed, with 17 priority bus stops now upgraded in the Kingston area.
Now we’re onto Stage 2 of the project which will deliver 20 more bus stops in Kingston
The upgraded stops will comply with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) by being more user-friendly and accessible for those with a disability.
About this project
In 2023 we carried out an audit of bus stops in Kingston, as well as consulting with the community.
We assessed each stop against accessibility standards and made recommendations for improvement.
From this audit of 90 stops, 17 priority bus stops in the Kingborough municipality were selected to be upgraded in the first stage of the project.
