We understand the importance of keeping the roadside clear of any litter and debris.
To do this, we regularly collect rubbish or litter along the State Road Network. Many highways are inspected at least once per week and during these inspections any issues, including litter, are logged for actioning.
On our quieter roads, we collect litter and debris as needed. Usually this is after any litter is spotted during a regular inspection.
Unfortunately, there are times when maintenance issues, such as litter or rubbish being dumped, occurs very shortly after an inspection has been completed. This means we may be unaware of the matter until the next inspection.
Members of the public can help us by reporting any roadside litter or debris on the State Road Network via our 24/7 hotline – 1300 139 933.
Road users can also do their part to keep Tasmania’s roads tidy by disposing of any rubbish responsibly and making sure that any vehicle loads are properly secured.
