About the project
In February 2020, the Department of State Growth released the Bass Highway – Wynyard to Marrawah Corridor Strategy.
The strategy was developed with findings from an engineering assessment of the road corridor and consultation with the wider Tasmanian community.
This project forms a part of the Wynyard to Marrawah strategy, which will include road realignments, new overtaking lanes, junction improvements, and shoulder widening on the Bass Highway, so road users can reach their destinations more safely and efficiently.
Visit the Bass Highway – Wynyard to Marrawah page to learn more about the program.
Community consultation
In 2019 we completed community consultation to gain feedback on the Wynyard to Marrawah section of the Bass Highway.
We received 239 pieces of feedback from the community, including from feedback forms, emails, phone calls and comments on our online interactive map and Facebook page.
We also gathered feedback from representatives of Waratah-Wynyard and Circular Head councils, Cradle Coast Authority, the Tasmanian Transport Association, RACT, and the Department of State Growth.
