Titan Rail Underpass
We are strengthening bridges and roads around Tasmania to make sure they stay safe and efficient for heavy vehicles and the broader community.
About the project
We are planning to replace the Titan Rail Underpass as part of the Freight Capacity Upgrade Project (FCUP).
Timing
This project is currently in the design phase which may include some on site investigations. We will let you know in advance if the investigations require traffic management.

About the Freight Capacity Upgrade Program
These works are being completed as part of FCUP, jointly funded by the Australian and Tasmanian governments.
FCUP supports the productivity of freight vehicles by improving the roads and bridges they travel on day to day. Repairing and strengthening these sections of road will:
- improve freight productivity
- improve efficiency and network reliability
- improve road safety for all road users
- reduce maintenance costs.
Funding
The Australian and Tasmanian Governments have committed combined funding of $100 million towards the Freight Capacity Upgrade Program.
