Kingston Interchange Underpass
We are strengthening bridges around Tasmania to make sure they stay safe and efficient for heavy vehicles and the broader community.
We will be repairing and strengthening the Kingston Interchange Underpass.
This project is currently in the design phase, we expect to advertise a tender for construction in mid-2025.
The Australian and Tasmanian Governments have committed combined funding of $100 million to upgrade key freight routes under the Tasmanian Government’s Freight Capacity Upgrade Program (FCUP).
These works are being completed as part of FCUP, jointly funded by the Australian and Tasmanian governments.
FCUP supports the productivity of freight vehicles by improving the roads and bridges they travel on day to day. Repairing and strengthening these sections of road will:
