About the project
The Gateway projects aim to support Tasmania’s visitor economy by providing upgrades at key entry points to reflect the unique character and tourism offerings of each Tasmanian region.
These upgrades will enhance the approach to Tasmania’s major cities and provide welcoming and useful amenities for visitors, as well as provide extra screenings for locals who live next to busy roads. Upgrades for the program will include landscaping, vegetation removal and the installation of artwork.
The Southern Gateways project will reflect the unique character, essence and identity of Hobart and the broader southern region,
including landscaping and tree planting work.
Location
This project consists of six sites located on both the Tasman Highway and the Brooker Highway.
Timing
We are currently working on the final stage of the project. We are considering options and we plan to update the community in early 2025.
