Wellards Creek Bridge
We are strengthening bridges around Tasmania to make sure they stay safe and efficient for heavy vehicles and the broader community.
We will be repairing and strengthening Wellards Creek Bridge on the Arthur Highway.
Construction started on the Wellards Creek Bridge on Arthur Highway, Murdunna on Monday, 28 August 2024.
We are working between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
The speed limit will be reduced to 40 km/hr through the project site and 20 km/hr on the bridge itself.
Construction is expected to be completed on 21 March 2025, weather permitting.
These works are being completed as part of the Tasmanian Government’s Freight Capacity Upgrade Program (FCUP).
FCUP supports the productivity of freight vehicles by improving the roads and bridges they travel on day to day. Repairing and strengthening these sections of road will:
The Australian and Tasmanian Governments have committed combined funding of $100 million towards the FCUP program.
